Headquartered in Brentwood, TN, Numotion is the nation’s leading provider of Complex Rehab Technology (“CRT”), improving the lives of people with disabilities by enabling them to actively participate in everyday life. CRT is medically necessary, individually configured mobility products and services, including manual and power wheelchairs, designed to meet the unique medical and functional needs of individuals with significant disabilities and medical conditions to provide them with greater independence.
When Audax acquired, what was then referred to as ATG Rehab, in January 2011, the business was a super-regional provider of complex rehab solutions. Audax saw an opportunity to scale the business through acquiring practices of Assistive Technology Professionals (ATP) to create national scale. This scale would allow for enhanced margins through combined purchasing and improved payor relationships.
In 2014, ATG merged with United Seating & Mobility, to double the size of the company, renaming the business Numotion. Together, the combined platform completed 39 acquisitions during the course of Audax’ ownership. Through the acquisition and organic initiatives, the business expanded its service base into urology and developed a complete national footprint. In addition, as a larger platform the business was enhance its leadership team, including recruiting Mike Swinford to be CEO of the combined NuMotion platform.
